Earth house 001
地球屋001號 位於中國翟城晏陽初鄉建學院內部，木結構草土牆體，三開間兩層樓住宅。
The earth house 001 is located inside of the James Yen Rural Reconstruction Institute in Zhai Cheng, China. The house has wooden structure and Straw-Clay wall, within two floors and three rooms each.
所用建材生產和加工過程耗能小，能最大限度的減少二氧化碳(CO2)的排放；材料大多數為木料和植物秸稈，能最大量的儲存二氧化碳( CO2 )。
With low energy consumption during all the process of the construction, the emission of CO2 can be reduced to the maximum level. Most of the materials are wood and plant straw, which can conserve the most CO2.
地球屋001號 將翟城傳統的單層五開間模式改為兩層樓三開間模式，在通常一間進深的基礎上又增加半間進深，作為廚房、衛浴、樓梯、通庭採光的空間。
We modify the earth house 001 from the traditional single-floor-five-room Zhai Cheng model into two-floor-three-room model. We also added half more room-depth to have more space for kitchen, bathroom, staircase, and patio lighting.
使用木材、泥土、麥稈、竹、草墊及一系列蘆葦製品（包括：葦席、葦箔、葦板等）等自然材料。最大限度減少對磚、水泥等不可回收材料的使用。外牆底層外側鋪鐵網，砌鬥磚，在保護牆體不被雨水沖刷的同時，可防止鼠類對牆體的侵害。二層屋頂前半部為平屋頂，可以晾曬糧食；後半部採用坡屋頂，減少二層高度對後排農戶採光的影響。冬季的採暖，沿用當地的普遍方式—炕，對傳統做法進行改良，建造適合二層住宅使用的雙層節能炕
We use natural materials such as wood, soil, straw, bamboo, hay mattress, and a series of reed product. (Includes: reed mattress, reed foil, reed board, etc…) We reduced the use of non-recyclable materials like bricks and concrete. The bottom of exterior outwall was covered by iron netting and bricks, which can protect the wall from the rain-wash and the inroad of mice. The front part of the roof is flat and can be used for drying the grains; the rear part is sloping to avoid screening out the sunlight for the rear-row houses. About the warmth-keeping in winter, we improve the local traditional Kang, a heatable brick bed, to a double-level energy-saving one for adapting the two-floor houses.

地球屋002號生態農宅將土、竹等自然材料與現代的薄壁輕鋼材料結合使用，三開間兩層樓，使用面積140平方米。 地球屋002號 為輕鋼屋架加草泥填充牆。輕鋼材料的可回收性，草土牆體的使用將房屋建造對環境的影響降到最低，鋼料之間採用螺栓連接，讓非專業人士也可通過簡單便捷的操作步驟，完成組裝過程。
The earth house 002 is an ecological house which combines natural materials, such as soil and bamboo, and modern materials as thin-walled lightweight steel. It is a three-room-two-level building, with a surface of 140 square meters.
The earth house 002 is a house with lightweight structure plus Straw-Clay wall. The recyclable feature of lightweight steel and the use of Straw-Clay wall minimize the environmental influence. The conjunction of steel material is the bolts, which enables the non-professionals can manipulate easily all the operation procedures.
